1ST XI
FRANKSTON 224 VS ECC 2-10
Winning the toss and bowling first, the Firsts were looking to make early inroads with ball in
hand. Putting his faith in debutant Navdeep Rai (4/41 off 20) Captain Liam Molloy’s decision
to throw him the new ball was quick to pay off. In a day to remember, Rai was the pick of
the bowlers, claiming the first of the day for the Bombers and putting on a clinical display
finishing with 4/41 off his 20 overs. Assisted by leg spinner Jarrod Parsons (2/49 off 20) and
speedster Muhammad Abdulrafay (2/57 off 16), the firsts were able to bowl the away side
out for 224.

With four overs to survive before stumps, Frankston were able to capitalise late in the day
picking up two quick wickets to set up the second innings. Essendon 2-10 at stumps eyeing
off a successful run chase next week.
2ND XI
FRANKSTON 7-337
Journeying to AH Butler Reserve, Captain Liam Tobin won the toss and sent the home side
in. It was late addition Brad Porter (4/60 off 16) who starred for the Bombers claiming, the
first of the day and ending up with four wickets in an impressive debut. Despite taking an
early one with the pressure on at 1-27, Frankston were faultless after the first drinks break.
A crucial partnership breaking run out from Jacob Pawlowicz saw the home side lose their
second after lunch. With another 90-run stand following, the Bombers fought back in the
last session of the day. With some reward for his efforts, Pawlowicz picked up two wickets
in the final over of the day, Frankston finishing the first innings 7-337.
3RD XI
FRANKSTON 8-244
Continuing the theme of the day, Captain Sean Phillips-Williams won the toss and chose to
bowl first at Cross Keys Reserve. Young gun quick Luay Miraz (3/47 off 12) continued his
stellar season, picking up not one, not two, but three wickets in just his second over of the
day skittling the top order. Following Miraz, Arin Mishra (3-27 off 9) also joined the party,
claiming the next two to have Frankston in trouble at 5-26. With their backs to the wall and
looking out for the count, a couple of big partnerships through the middle order helped
steer the away team and wrestle back some momentum. Frankston finishing day one 8-244
at stumps.
4TH XI
FRANKSTON 169 VS ECC 2-79
Losing the toss and forced to field at John Coburn Oval, the fourths looked to continue their
momentum from last week’s nail-biting win. After George Dikeos (1/10 off 6) took the first
of the day for the Bombers, it was Captain Krishna Chandak (4/30 off 19) who did majority
of the damage. Assisted by Aaron Cornish (2/36 off 9) and Heath Doherty (2/49 off 15.2),
the Skipper put on a clinic bowling the home side out for 169.
Needing to bat for 20 overs before the conclusion of the days play, Frankston were able to
claim two early ones. Despite this opener Nivain Gamanayake (33* off 52) and Doherty (22*
off 39) were able to hold their nerve, and help the Bombers finish the day 2-79.
