It was a tough day for The Bombers as the 1sts, 2nds and 3rds all went down. The 4th XI recorded their first win of the season.
1st XI ECC 8-225 def by KHCC 4-227
Playing in their first home game of the season at Windy Hill the Bombers were boosted by two debutants in fast bowler Noman Safdar and All Rounder Arshit Rajput.

Losing the toss and being sent in the Bombers lost Markovski early and then Arsalan soon after. A solid partnership between Englishmen Harry Duke (46) and Connor Poulton (50) righted the ship and then solid contributions from Emerson White (50) and debutant Rajput (34) powered the Bombers to a competitive 8-225.

With the ball the Bombers struggled to make in roads and Kingston chased the target 4 wickets down in the 47th over. Jackson Martin was again the pick of the bowlers, the 17 year old now has 10 wickets for the season in what is proving to be a fantastic 1st XI debut season.

The loss leaves the 1sts 15th on the ladder.
2nd XI ECC 7-262 def by KHCC 7-266
The seconds went down in a last over thriller at Walter Galt that had all 4 of the spectators at the ground on the edge of their seats.
Batting first the 2s lost Fernando early before 17 year old Simrth Gill (50) showed his power and class powering to a 26 ball 50 for the second week in a row. Gill hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his knock that surely would have grabbed the attention of the selectors. Gill was ably assisted the returning Salvado (67), Ikroop Dhanoa (70) and Jarrod Parsons (50) who all batted tremendously. Salvado and Dhanoa were patient before accelerating late whilst Parsons showed his class in consistently finding the boundary in a well-made 50.

With the ball the Bombers started well and appeared to have the upper hand. In an even team performance the bowlers all bowled well, Ikroop Dhanoa backing up his batting performance with 2-47 was the pick of the bowlers.
At 7-200 in the 45th over the boys seemed to have the upper hand however some great late hitting and batting from the Hawks won the day with the boys going down in the last over the day.
A bitter pill to swallow for the 2s who now sit 9th on the ladder with a massive game against Ringwood next week.
3rd XI ECC 9-201 – def by KHCC 5-202
Returning to Cross Keys or SPW Oval as it is sometime known the 3rds were looking for two wins on the trot after a great win last week against Prahran.
Batting first the Bombers were under pressure early 5-75. All-rounder Krit Darji saved the day with a classy 91*. The knock featured 8 fours and 4 sixes and enabled the Bombers to post a defendable 9-201.
With the ball the Bombers toiled hard however were unable to defend the target. The Hawks passing the total 5 down in the 43rd over In his first game in the 3rds young fast bowler Muhammad Abdul Wasay was the pick of the bowlers snaring 2 for 37 from his 8 overs.
The 3rds sit 12th on the ladder after Round 5.
4thXI ECC 224 def KHCC 8-218
In a massive game at Highet Reserve #2 the 4ths powered to their first win of the season.
Batting the first the Bombers were lead by number 3 Hady Hegazy who hit a classy 56 including 9 fours. Strong middle order contributions Dilawar Ali (26) Pahul Sodhi (42) and Samin Shafquat (33) all contributed to the Bombers posting a very competitive 224.

With the ball in hand the Bombers were clinical snaring an early wicket and then heaping the pressure on in the field to restrict the Hawks to 8-218. Prageeth Edirisinghe (2-40) and Stephen Buhagiar (2-43) were the pick of the bowlers in what was a great team performance.
The win sees the Bombers climb to 15th on the ladder after round 5.
After Round 5 the Bombers have dropped to 16th on the Victorian Premier Cricket Club Championship Ladder.
The Bombers now look ahead to a massive weekend of Premier Cricket with a One Day game against Ringwood on Saturday and then a T20 on Sunday against Casey-South Melbourne.
The first XI will be at home at Windy Hill.
