Three Bomber's selected in 2025/26 Victoria Metro U17 Squad

The squad will play in the upcoming national championships.
The Essendon Cricket Club is proud to announce the selection of Simrth Gill, Jackson Martin and Luay Miraz in the U17 Victoria Metro Squad for upcoming national championships.
All three young players are integral part of our senior list and U18 programme.
Jackson Martin is a left arm off spin bowler currently playing in the Clubs 1st XI and U18 Team. Jackson arrived from Yarraville Club Cricket Club at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. After a dominant season in the 2nd XI and U16 Dowling Shield where he has awarded Player of the Tournament, Jackson earnt his 1st XI debut in Round 1 this year. In round 2 he took 5 wickets in the 1sts big win against Greenvale.

Simrth Gill joined Essendon in season 2023/24 from Werribee Cricket Club as part of our Dowling Shield Squad. Over the past two seasons he has successfully made the jump into our Senior Section playing in the 2ND XI where he has shown some brilliant displays of power hitting. He is also capable of bowling more than handy off spin and is an elite fielder.

Luay Miraz is an exciting fast bowler who has played in the Clubs Dowling Shield team, 3rd XI and 2nd XI. He is a tear away quick who the ability to bowl fast but also with great control and swing. He will be looking to continue his impressive start to his career in the coming months.
